Every store I walk into on any day or time has been mobbed with shoppers for months and months. Huge waits at all the restaurants. Long waits for everything.
But, my state gained 200,000 people in the past couple years. It might not seem like a lot but we only had 1.3 million people to start with.
I’m a service provider. I’m on the higher end in my area but not the highest. I charge what I charge. If I were to charge less, and I have, resentment starts to set in. The amount I charge is the point where I think my job is worth it.
If people want to find someone cheaper, they are welcome to. They usually come back to me because I offer them a good service.
I think there is a market for rest/charging stops with a restaurant maybe a play area. Maybe even a gym. Maybe a small office center. Charging can take a bit longer than a quick fill up so a place with useful things at the stop would be helpful.
A couple gas pumps might be a good thing. Little store.
I just myself a 3% raise every year. 10% seems like a lot.
