Try not to get lost in the minutiae.
A trap that I fell into when I started up was trying to be a perfectionist with every little thing. Sometimes you have to come out the gate ‘good enough’ and slowly improve over time, or else you may get stuck in the perfectionism rut and never actually get things moving in a constructive direction. My mentor pushed me to just “get the fucking thing up and running, quit messing with shit, you’re losing money by the second” and that helped me snap-to and finally get things really moving.
Im talking mostly about stuff like building the perfect, most responsive web layout; designing cutting edge, catchy copy and marketing graphics; comparing slightly different shades of roughly the same interior paint color, etc. Its so easy to get lost in things like the perfect business card design that you end up burning precious time otherwise best spent trying to get yourself running and profitable.
Fine tune things over time while you’re operating. Once you can afford it, hire someone to worry about that shit for you.
