I had an employee who left to start her own business and competed with us. She charged about half what I did. I outsourced everything to her, kept my fees the same and no longer had to deal with employees.
this is a pretty common “hit a wall” spot for entrepreneurs. I swear the only thing that kept me in business some years vs walking away in that space was crushing debt and an amazing team. If you don’t already belong to a peer group, find your closest Entrepreneur’s Organization group and join it. The things you are feeling are normal and talking about it with other entrepreneurs who will tell you how normal it is, and then help you solve the problem is an experience not to be missed, and I hope you seek out before you sell! My husband ia also an entrepreneur, and his experience in EO mirrors mine - amazing people doing really cool shit and helping you get through the very days you are describing now. Selling is always an option - there are creative ways to give up the reigns and take some chips off the table vs just selling outright.
No. Unless they put extraordinary effort into the email and it caught your eye, in which case I would email them and thank them and ask if you can hold onto that resume for the future or share it with peers who might be looking.
