Get it under control quickly. Make sure your office looks inviting as well as being a good place to work or you will lose staff and long time customers. My dentist recently inherited the business from my previous dentist. You could tell as a patient everything was about to go downhill. Staff was different every time you went in and the formerly cozy office felt run down with stuff that normally would be repaired quickly being left broken for years. They used to have artwork on all the walls and they left it bare with the holes and ripped wallpaper where the artwork had been. The old dentist had TVs in every room for parents with kids. They ripped out the VCR but left the cables dangling in the corner.

The office manager was formerly this nice older lady who did stay for a year after the transition but you could tell by her demeanor she was fed up with the new owner. The new office manager was cold and ignored you until she was ready to check you in or out. I stopped going because they messed up billing and lied to me multiple times saying they would fix it. They were sending my bill to my mom and my mom’s bill to me. Messing up the codes on insurance and telling me stuff was covered by insurance when it clearly wasn’t.
