So I have been seeing these ads a lot lately for “I’ll teach you how to make money doing this!”, and of course I have to pay them a seizable amount. Ok that’s fair.

I know it’s probably something like this:

They find a method X that makes ok money, do X for a bit, then sell a course on how to make money doing X. Then they make a ton of money selling courses on how to do X, show themselves in a Ferrari and say “see how much money I made doing X? You can too! Just pay me $997!”

My question is: is it ALWAYS a scam? Or are there legitimate gurus out there that teach you stuff that can legitimately teach you how to make money.

And to those that are going to say: “the problem is that they are selling a course that you can easily find information online for free”. I don’t mind paying for a course that I can easily find the information online, because part of the reason for paying for it is that you are committing yourself to that, without commitment it’s much harder to get profitable.

My main concern is: is it always a scam that you cannot make any money out of it, or hardly any money?

I don’t think so. But some are going to offer more value than others. Often you can get the info they provide for free. But by paying and having it all in one place you might save on research time. I think it really depends on what they are teaching on and what the focus is. If you pay you probably will probably put more effort in. Something like a full course on how to use adobe premiere or something when you know nothing doesn’t seem like a scam. Just reading money rather than time.
