I had a friend who wanted to start a coin counting by mail business. The customer mails the coins in a flat rate package and then you count them and in exchange the people get a gift card to a local restaurant.

I was at a shopping center and I saw a storefront that was basically a cat petting room. There must have been 50 or 60 cats and they had couches and chairs and you could go in there and pay for time to pet the cats. I have severe allergies so I definitely did not go in, but I could only imagine what the smell would be like in there. I mean it’s great that they are providing for unwanted cats and I can only assume the cats are well treated. But really would people pay to go sit in a room with a bunch of cats and pet them?

There are actually several cat cafe’s and they seem to do well. Many work with rescue groups and use it was a way to adopt the cats for the rescue.

We have them in Japan. I paid 50 bucks for me and my son to pet cats.

Why ? Pets are not allowed in many houses.

Cat-cafes only closed in the last few years due to the pandemic.

Turns out lots of people want to pet something warm and fuzzy that purrs. Great way to lower stress levels without all the issues of actually owning a cat.

We have cat cafes in the UK, and they’re fabulous. As a special bonus on top of the coffee, cake and cats, they have rules about no babies or small children. So you can actually enjoy your time in there without someone bringing some screeching brats to the next table.
