As a business owner, I’ve only shown appreciation with money. Money talks and that’s legit why they’re working 😆 I never do a “oh let’s have a pizza party and invite some of your family”. We only do that if it’s someone’s birthday. Show them the monay honay 👌🏻

With a raise and a heartfelt thank you. What would you want given the choice? Are you particularly motivated by gift cards or Costco liquor? (Former Employer just gave away a bar and Uber gift cards every Christmas)

Money. Money will always be the best way to reward an employee. They don’t care about creative. Creative doesn’t pay their bills

Really, no employee wants you to be creative. They want that money distributed in cash bonuses, preferably before December and in cash or prepaid credit card.

I used to keep coffee gift cards on hand for employees I saw taking initiative. But anything bigger was always cash.

I worked at a retail company that had the most awful bosses and regional managers. They did a lot of things against the law and I always called them out on that but nothing changed. I stayed in this company for 4 years though, because they had the most amazing employees and great team events. The pay was good if your commission was good, but you had to work hard. I still stayed. In my opinion team events where you can spend just chill time together with people you work with to get to know them is very important.

Why do you feel the need to be creative? People want money plain and simple. Don’t complicate it.
