Basically, I took a gap year after graduating high school so that I could work on my Detailing business. I was able to grow it exponentially. I started with $500, and have been making around 10-11k a month revenue with 70% profit margins.

My business is mobile, meaning i need good climate to do the work. However, I live in Canada, so it’s only warm for 6months out of the year. The 6months of winter are perfectly aligned with when college starts. So I was originally thinking that I’ll work on the business for half the year, and study for the other half. (Taking bachelor of business administration)

However now that school started, I am only able to think about my business. I had such great momentum going, and now I’ll need to take a 6 month break. I have been skipping most of my classes, and I’m behind on assignments. I can’t imagine doing 4 years of this. I have so many ideas on expanding my business further, all I need is the time.

My alternative is to rent/lease a detailing garage, which would enable me the business to be open year round, instead of just half the year. I think it would be much more worth it than spending $5k a semester to study.

I have never been the school type. At 12 I made a yt channel with my brother making $16k. At 15 I had a woodworking business making $50 an hour. Even with the skipping school and never studying, I managed to get through high school with a 75 average.

What do I do? I’m stuck at a crossroads and I would love to hear some advice. Do I continue working half a year for the next 4 years? Or do I dropout and go all in on the business?

Contrary to what they’re advising you to do, I personally think that getting a degree is a smarter move. It was right that you will learn more about running a business, but there is also knowledge and expertise that they will teach you at school. I was a college dropout, and I sometimes wish I went back to school instead and finished my degree. The choice is yours, but if it was me, given the time frame you can only work, I’d go to college and side hustle at the same time.
