I’m ceo and cofounder of my startup. Currently going through techstars. The product is good, has really good traction, solving a big problem in an industry I don’t care about. I have deep passion for social issues and specially education.

The only thing that motivates ALOT me about my current company is that we can make a lot of money so I can just eventually leave and do something I’m passionate about with that money.

Am I doomed?

Find a passion in winning. Or in not failing. Or proving everyone wrong. Or making money. I have seen founders be successful with every single reason, but they have to have a passion.

And here’s the biggest thing. If you are working with team members that you can be authentic with. I don’t care if you like them or you don’t like them, but can you be authentic with your team members and can they be authentic with you. Can you guys talk real? Can you guys be loving and kind and have arguments at the same time. Can you work through problems? All those things are way more important than the product you’re working on because those are the people you are going to battle with every single day. So if you like your team and you can focus on winning or not failing or being the best or just making a lot of money, who cares about the product. Go crush it and kill it and then do something awesome later.
