A while back, maybe a year or two I made a small 3D printed product that was pretty much first to market. I started selling it on Etsy, I thought I might try and expand into retail but didn’t have the drive to do so. I have only made about $350 in profit after cost of goods and other stuff.
The killer is that a national big name company created the same product as mine, when that happened my sales basically dried up. I don’t have a patent, I decided in the beginning it wasn’t worth it and accept the outcome.
I am almost out of stock, I’m trying to decide if I just say I have had my fun and move on or if I spend some more money to restock. It is neat when they sell, I hope people like them, and money is money. But it doesn’t do much for me at the moment so just wanted to get some opinions from others.
You have a product first. I would move forward to something else. Try to find the customer first , then solve their problem with whatever product last.
