Me and my co-founders have been working on a niche web platform for a couple of years now and it’s been a real challenge reaching new users.

Our idea is similar to YouTube but for Python web apps, where users who know Python but not web development, can easily and quickly create a web app. The developer can also monetize their apps and our goal is to have a marketplace of online calculators.

We’ve tried online/virtual hackathon events, medium articles, social media (LinkedIn, tiktok, youtube), google ads, one-on-one meetings with industry partners/researchers, and creating our own apps.this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Your description is confusing. Is it a video hosting platform like YouTube or is it a Python-based app builder?

u/vnagornyy It’s an app builder for apps that use Python to run the calculations. I compared it to Youtube cuz we have 2 objectives: (1) an easy way to share Python web apps for anyone without a coding background (similar to how Youtube made it easy to share videos) and (2) A platform to find and use other people’s apps with optional monetization (similar to how Youtube is a go-to platform for videos). I hope that makes sense?

I am curious if you truly have product market fit. Do you think maybe the reason it’s been so hard to get the word out is because it’s not really solving a problem for people?

(I know it is easier to write a comment like this than find PMF).

u/YodelingVeterinarian At this stage, I don’t think we have PMF. I think you’re right that we’re not solving the problem for a lot of people, such as developers who would prefer to share on Github or use any of the many web frameworks out there. But we have spoken to some users who we are making it easier/possible for them to put their work online. I think it’s just that these people are hard to reach since they might not be online or are too busy with their jobs. I’m not sure how to connect with them?
