I make hardly $1K as a graphic designer (5+ yrs exp)

So I am really disppointed being a designer, I am hardly making $1K per month as a freelance graphic designer with more than 5 yeears of experience. Still I am unable to make a good income. What advice would you give ?

too saturated and too easy to find people in 3rd world countries that can do the work and think $1k/mo is a TON of money
