Hi everyone, I am in a bit of a situation and would benefit from suggestions:
\
Currently I have a EU-based WFH gig that is quite good, but has a lot of free time 50% of the working week, where I’ve been procrastinating for the majority of and it got me thinking I need to do more with my time and potentially invest my time into something that might be of purpose in the future.
I am a Production Manager of sorts for a large media outlet and I’d think my mostly transferable skills to build upon are scheduling, budgeting, aptitude to understand complex technological ideas, Excel and Office tools and (on a good day) communications. I was curious if just by reading this bit, some of you might have interesting areas for me to try and explore, see if something sticks ?
I am not asking for anyone to do any heavy lifting for me, just some guidance as I’ve spent the last 10 years or so to get a role in my desired field, be good at what I do and now I am realising with some of the day-to-day automation I’ve implemented to my tasks that I find myself with a lot of free and valuable time that I am wasting. I am truly after outside perspectives, as beyond my field I have no idea what else is out there really.
You could consider offering consulting services in your area of expertise. You have valuable skills that many businesses could benefit from. It’s a great way to make use of your downtime and potentially generate extra income. Good luck!
First of all congratulations on getting your desired job, and cheers to you for having that perspective and an open mind! I could offer you some suggestions but before doing that I wanna know how you want to utilize your free time, do you want to do something productive? Capitalize on your current skills? or take a risk and do something completely different?
