State for LLC

Hey guys, I want to start an LLC for my STR business in the state of Virginia but I had to relocate to CA for my 9-5 job. However, I want to conduct my business in VA and have all the property associated to the business in VA. I’m currently living and working in CA but I am resident of Virginia and my house is there. Ideally, in the next year or so, I want to find a job thats in VA and move back there. I will be conducting no business in CA, I just have to be here for 9-5. should I start my LLC in VA or CA? How would taxes work, will I have to pay CA and VA taxes?

start in VA, list your primary residence in VA as your business address. As far as the state of VA is concerned you are still a resident of VA since your primary residence is there. You can list yourself as the agent for the business or you can hire an agent for the business in VA.

Taxes are based on the state where business is conducted.
