Hi Reddit Community,
We’re developing a Learning Management System (LMS) with a unique twist and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Traditional LMS platforms, such as Graphy and Teachable, focus on enabling creators to host courses on their own domains, offering more control over the look, feel, and functionality. However, they lack a key feature: discoverability (course marketplace).

What’s Different?

Our LMS not only allows creators to host courses but also features a built-in marketplace, enabling direct course sales. This approach reduces the need for creators to invest heavily in marketing themselves. Additionally, learners can discover niche courses from creators they might not be aware of.
Why We Need Your Input:

  1. Identifying Gaps: What challenges or gaps might we be missing?
  2. Appeal to Creators: Would this added discoverability be appealing to you?
  3. Appeal to Learners: As a learner, how would this feature impact your course selection process?
  4. Any Additional Thoughts or Suggestions: We’re open to all kinds of feedback and ideas!

Thank you in advance for your insights and contributions!

What you are talking about is a spin off of a existing idea called an LMS + OPM, but with the take that you build one off sites rather then a market place like Coursera + Udemy.

Given that LMS are basically all the same, I wouldn’t start with building there and instead focus on what’s unique about your value prop and prove out whether beskope sites is more desirable and achieves better results then a market place.
