It looks like web app is the only true native cross platform solution from one codebase which is a huge advantage for solo to small teams. for apps like Twitter, Tinder, IG, FB, would having only mobile friendly web app work at least during the MVP stage? these apps don’t require any feature that is native heavy and especially now that iOS supports web push notification… what do you guys think?
Web works best to quickly build and test the market. That’s what I’m doing for my product.
Web apps are fine to start. They are great for most MVPs, like 99%. Sometimes, you need something more that is only available via a mobile app, but those are rare.
Ultimately, it depends on the use case.
FYI, there are platforms that allow you to make multiple platforms from one code base and look like every other app on a platform.
It really depends on your product and what your audience would find more suitable. Some projects kick ass as an app while others might be way better off as a website. If you don’t have the capacities to do it all simultaneously, find which platform is best suited for your product and start from there.
IMO Mobile is an inferior way to Internet. Mobile apps have their place but that place is basically allowing you to interact with the Internet for simple, mind numbing, or remote tasks.
