Ok Reddit, so I’m an aspiring baker. I’ve wanted to be a baker since I was little. I’m also, like pretty much everyone on here, a huge nerd.

So I had an idea about going to comic cons to sell cake pops, cookies, etc. It seems like a good idea to me, and I’ve seen people at cons like Megacon selling Fudge, and I remember one booth at spooky empire selling cookies.

So I thought to myself, “I can do that.”

I’ve asked this question in r/comiccons before but I figured I could get more advice from more people if I asked here.

So what do I have to do?

It all depends on your state and county laws. Some states like NJ will not allow you to sell food of any that is made at home. I think they did change it but not sure. Again you will need to check your state and local laws.

In my state we have cottage food laws. I don’t want to be specific about where I live. But let’s say that I’m in gator land.
