Hey Everyone. I been in the restaurant business for 19 years. I been a mortgage lender since 2015. I was doing two jobs 2015 to 2021. I sold the restaurant. I been getting bored of the mortgage industry, itching to go into being self employed again. What does everyone think of future of the gas station business? Do you think we will go mostly electric by 2030 like the government is aiming to do?

The average age of a motor vehicle is now over 12 years. So, it would take about 25 years to turn over the entire fleet.

And this would require serious planning and commitment to infrastructure.

Currently there is a plan (not a good or serious one) and no long-term commitment to infrastructure.

Consequently, electrification of the motor vehicle fleet may be a virtuous goal but achieving it seems dubious.

Consider the value chain to fill up your tank.

Refiners, barges and pipelines, bulk store facilities, tens of thousands of fuel delivery trucks, and tens of thousands of retail outlets (c-store, big box) and private sites with underground storage tanks.

You witnessed the incompetence of current administration.

Do you really believe it is capable of making the transition from CIE to EV?

Certainly EV will continue to penetrate the market. It makes sense for some.

However, mass market calls for mass market solution.

Given the potential amount of oil and natural gas that is available to us, I believe it’s going to be a long time before we find one for EV.
