Hi everyone, I am pursuing an e-commerce site where the product is manufactured and delivered to my home and packaged by me. The question I have is, if there’s the case that the product goes viral, why am I supposed to do? Will it just be an unfortunate delay. Also, if you were to get tens of thousands of orders, do people package it themselves or is the packaging outsourced? I am sorry if I sound so clueless but I am taking a go at this all for the first time. To be honest, the product requires heavy marketing and virality so it could be possible, I just wouldn’t know what to do. Thanks!
If your product goes viral and orders skyrocket, consider outsourcing packaging to a fulfillment company and always keep your customers updated about any delays. Give this a read https://www.cuppa.so/post/the-top-10-startup-pitfalls-to-watch-out-for
As someone else said, sell one before worry about getting tens of thousands of orders. Even if that hapened, it would be years away.
When I had an ecommerce store, I store my products at a fulfillment center. They took care of packing and shipping.
Your website should show how much stock you have available. If stock runs out, no oneshoukd be allowed to order unless you specificallylet customers know there’ll be a delay.
If you suddenly get tens of thousands of orders, you card processor with probably freeze your account to check for fraud.
What you are suggesting just doesn’t happen in practice.
It’s your job to properly manage inventory. If stock is low and there’s no new stock arriving any time soon, then stop running ads.
