How does one pay themselves in the early stages? I’m currently working for the business my family sold, of which I’ve been an employee of for roughly 12 years. Currently I believe I’m being mistreated purely because of my relationship to the previous owner (he’s my dad lol) and I would like to start a business of my own.

My father started the buisness and worked a day job simultaneously, until the time came he could take that risk. I have done what I could to begin the business, networking and acquiring tools, however with the way I’m being treated I’m unable to take time off to see the accountants and lawyers to begin the process of starting the business and transferring assets into the company. Let alone do the physical work.

How did you pay yourself in the beginning stages? Small business loan? Savings? Loan on life insurance? Lol. Any tips would help.

Don’t take loans to pay yourself in the early stages. Like the reply above says, speak to your dad but in the meantime seek a more flexible job if possible.
