Would it be wise to invest in a website despite not having products yet? Or do I run the risk of losing a domain I like in order to focus on building products and their popularity?

Validate the product first, depending on wether it’s a physical product, the landing page might be the way to validate the demand though. What’s your product?
Buying the domain takes like 5 minutes. You don’t have to put up a website until you’re ready, but you’ll have the domain locked down. Do it first.
If you’re talking about registering a domain that’s freely available then obviously yes just do that. It took more time to write this post that it would have done to register a domain 😂 - okay probably not true, but close enough. You don’t need a website, just buy the domain name so you have it and no one can take it.
If you’re talking about buying one from someone else for a lot of money then probably wait until you have something tangible to do with it first.
