Hi all,

I am moving to CA in the new year from Texas, curious to see if anyone can help point me in the right direction regarding my business. I operate virtually, my business is a private practice for therapy and it is a Sole Prop for the time being. I was told to get a PLLC in Texas prior to moving over, but should I just wait and get one in CA? For additional context, I will still only be seeing Texas clients, I will just be living in CA.

Has anyone done something like this before? Any help would be appreciated!

It might be a good idea to ask this question in r/psychotherapists, r/therapists, and r/llc.

You could also contact a small business lawyer in California. Yes, it might cost you a little, but setting up your entity correctly could save you a lot of time, effort, and money later on.
