Hey good morning everyone hope all is well! I am currently a truck driver but I’m thinking about going to get my automotive license, I haul scrap for my company now and I’m seeing guys with scrap yard. I’m also seeing dudes with tow trucks , end dump trailer hauling rotors, drums, flattened out cars etc.

So I was just brain storming if I get my automotive license now to incorporate that plus my cdl into a business ? Buy from auctions fix them then sell? Or buy from auctions use the car parts to make more money , rinse and repeat?

there is much competition in that field, and you need capital to get going. I wish you the best of luck. And remember, you will be competing against guys using very low cost “undocumented” labor.

sounds like a LOT of work…easiest thing for you is to rent dumpsters (dump trailers). Its a big investment, however, the income is easy…drop off a trailer at a construction site (or anyone that needs one), have them fill it, pick it up, dump, repeat…

I would go for picking up dumped cars or clearing them from people’s gardens ( plenty about as you drive around and most will be glad to get rid of them for free) then stripping them for selling the good parts then selling the leftovers for scrap metal, that way no expenses only your time. Just need some space! Good Luck mate.
