Good evening everyone! I have owned and operated a florist shop from the ground up for the last 6 years. Sadly, the market is extremely over saturated… my current whole sale supplier is marking up prices to basically keep up with demand… a rose that cost .45-.65 is now up to 1.75… when you’re buying 1,000 roses at a time it really adds up lol. I am not under at all so I really don’t need to close up shop. I’m just looking to see what other businesses I could replace this one with. I would still use this retail location. Any ideas?

IDK if this is an absolutely idiotic idea or not but…

Offer flower arranging classes. You know those wine and painting group sessions? Yeah. Wine and flower. BYOB. Play some music, curate a good time. You could do a mix of fresh arrangements, dried, and even bring in stuff for people to make their own garlands and wreaths. Christmas wreath, Valentine’s day wreath, spring wreath, etc. Have special events where the goal will more or less be for everyone to make a themed arrangement or item with a limited range of supplies so that you’re not just letting people choose from all of your stock at random. I’m sure you could even do fake flower/garland/wreath making classes.

Just thinking on how most people are more willing to pay for an experience than an object.

Worst thing that can happen by asking on Facebook is nobody wants to participate. I hope it works out for you!!
