Hello everyone. Long story short I will try to be as objective as possible. 9 months ago I was a professional video editor, freelancer and was making good money out of it. Decided to change my work and go to sales. I went into sales and started work in the best business coaching in Bulgaria and probably in the world (won’t say the name of the company). I have been working there for 7 months now as a sales representative but because of inappropriate target audience assessment from their side, they managed to convert only 2% of the leads I gave them. As a result, my commission was really low. I shared with them that I am considering starting a new side hustle just to have some cashflow going so I can start investing money but they advised me to stay for longer in sales and it will pay me. I don’t know…I don’t have cashflow and this really makes me anxious and unmotivated to do anything whatsoever. I also have a chance to start a mobile detailing business. Don’t know what’s appropriate to do - listen to them / listen to my anxious ass…

I would start by doing some quick math- assuming close rate stays the same, how many leads do you need to pull in to hit your desired commission, or how much bigger does the average value of leads need to be. Then ask yourself, can you adjust the way you’re working to hit either of those goals? If the answer is no it’s time to move on. You can’t single handedly fix a sales funnel but you can determine how much time you’re willing to waste not making enough money.
