Always pay in installments, with progress reviews of the actual work and demos as the gate to the next payment. This should include a transfer of all current project files, including source.

Then you’re only ever out 1 payment if they bail.

What language or tools is it built in? I’d be happy to help if I know about it.

Why are freelance developers so bad at business lol

I don’t understand why they don’t stay in contact with their clients at least bi weekly.

If you need help in the future or looking to grow a SaaS company from 0 to 100 paid users.

I also mentor technical founders in navigating the business world.

Feel free to reach out via DM or link coralreef consulting

If you have a code repository (files that developers might have given you), I can take a look.

DM me. I am looking for some freelance work. Over 15 years professional experience as fullstack dev and about 4 running an entire department.

Looking for something to get me back into coding more rather than dealing with leadership, clients, and management.

I’ve also had startup 2 businesses as lead tech cofounder.

I typically start with scoping, then a paid audit, then paid rescoping. Everything is documented in case you don’t want to use me and can use those scoping docs for future devs.

    My pricing works like this:

    1. I give a base estimate, this the minimum you would pay

    2. I give a median, which is around more what you would pay.

    3. I give a high estimate, which is based on a risk percentage, which further scoping can bring down. However, I give this number or client budgeting. You will never be charged higher than the high estimate, because then it is a “me” issue not being able to estimate correctly.

During the rescoping process, I typically try to get that risk below 40% per component.

I’m a fractional CTO and fullstack developer, and specialize in cases like this. Let me know if you need my help. I’m based in Europe but mainly work with US clients.

I can give you a free initial consultation as well for 15 minutes. After this I will have a rough idea of the amount of work needed to finalize your website, and will provide you a quote. I can also function as a fractional CTO for your startup, so you don’t ever have to run into problems like this again.
