Hello everyone, I am not an entrepreneur at this time and I might be premature on this, but I am looking for advice to best prepare me during the journey. Who else but the best!

Some backstory:

I have wanted to be both an anesthetist and an esthetician since high school and developed a pretty straightforward plan on how to do so that I have followed directly for six years now. Before starting college, I got my cosmetology license and have been an esthetician specializing in waxing for 7 years, and it is currently funding my ability to attend nursing school. I will graduate with my bachelor’s in April.

As time has passed, I’ve worked in several salons as well as worked for my own private practice. I have grown to love the company I currently work for since I was hired years ago and know that I want to become a franchisee for this specific wax salon; they aren’t the biggest name but they do have national coverage for the most part and are well known and favored at every location I’ve ever been to. Right now, I am on track to attend a doctorate program for nurse anesthesia and as long as all goes well, I should be entirely finished with my educational career by 2030.

I’m aware that the timing is pretty much jumping the gun, and have known this is a roughly 20 year plan since the beginning, but I want to try and be as ready as possible, and I’ve taken down a book of notes over the years from other business owners, salon owners, entrepreneurs, and franchisees that I’ve seen as clients at my current job or elsewhere that I’ve developed a rapport or friendship with. I want to add to this list with anything that might be beneficial in my journey! Even the most basic of information helps.

Thank you to everyone who’s willing to give me any type of feedback. I appreciate you and look forward to using said advice to achieve my little dream!

I am not an entrepreneur at this time

You sound like an entrepreneur to me! You have a clear vision and a detailed plan that you have been executing for years while building a strong relevant network.

I think you’re doing great by working in the environment you want to create. I would look to grow in that environment and work as far up as you can so you can know the ins and out of the operation and how each role is executed. You can take notes of what the franchise location you work at does well and what you can improve. Keep building your network the way you are because it can come in super handy when you start your own venture.

You sound to be well along the right path! Kudos to you!
