Hi Guys

Uk based, myself and my brother set up a carpet and upholstery cleaning business last year. To test the water as such as it was In our five year business plan to develop into a specialist cleaning company offering carpet & Upholstery, Hardfloor Tile & Grout, Oven & Extractor, High access roof and gutters, exterior soft washing, pressure washing after build’s environmental and biohazard cleaning, and the run a waste removal company under the same brand.

In our first year we turned over just 30k just on carpets and upholstery from a cold start, our marketing has been poor we haven’t had bussiness cards or leaflets made up, we have all of the socials and share to local groups we have a website and pay for SEO wich as well as local ppc, wich has yielded some results.

We’ve only been doing this as a side hustle for the moment and have just invested in a large van big enough for the extra gear ready to expand in to other services, aiming to start in the spring then dropping part time work wise. Until it warrants a full time income. It’s been a struggle juggling all of it but we are now investing in equipment etc we could have never of dreamed about one year ago. I believe carpets & upholstery is not a full business model for us but a strong part of.

We want to go after the commercial market to make up 70% I.e Hotels, holiday parks etc carpet upholstery, swimming pools hard floors tile and grout , restaurants ovens, - also found in hotels and holiday parks but independently also commercial factory’s hardfloor, high access, new build development pre plaster cleans and brick work cleaning after build cleaning local authorities, social housing etc and with the waste removal we’d be the full package there’s a ton of people just doing ovens or carpets but few doing all I’m also Curios if there’s a strong reason why other then the outlay!

My question is really how the hell do I make people aware of our brand and let them know we have the answer to there solution, there’s other companies out there doing it and enough work for us all. So far as a marketing plan for the spring we have

SEO PPC Bussiness cards Leaflets ‘We’ve just cleaned next door’ post either side of property’ Check a trade Gumtree spotlight Friday ad Bark Shop windows Social media but I want to dwindle that down in to just an update and to stay active

Is there any advice anyone can offer I’m all ears

Many thanks

I suggest you get someone to help you develop a strategic marketing plan.

Plans begin with mission statement and goals and objectives.

Your mission is to become full-service commercial cleaning service.

Currently, you are side hustle residential service generating sales of $30K.

What is financial goal and objective of full-service business?

For example, if you require sales of $400K to make a profit (hypothetical), what strategy and tactics are you going to use to grow the business from $30K?

“….we have all of the socials and share to local groups we have a website and pay for SEO wich as well as local ppc, wich has yielded some results.”

Arguably, some results are not hundreds of thousands of dollars.

    Planning also helps with budgeting.

“….but we are now investing in equipment etc we could have never of dreamed about one year ago.”

There is nothing wrong with investing in equipment. However, most owners don’t do so before they figure out how they are going to pay for it.
