Distribution is my nemesis. I’ve come to this realization after building product after product but failing to distribute them.
Now, I’ve identified this as my current pain point that needs solving.
After reflecting, I need a collection of resources suited for the different stages of an idea. Resources can be digital materials but also distribution channels and access to experts/community.
I haven’t yet figured out the ins and outs of what my final offering will look like, but I would appreciate your thoughts on it.
So, please spill the beans or take my idea and solve it for me.
Why would I trust someone to do my distribution who has never successfully distributed… anything?
It would not be a service to distribute, it would be a resource center for distribution.
First time founders obsess over product. Second time founders obsess over distribution.
It’s hard and can look very different depending on the business.
Word of mouth scales exponentially. Everything else is linear.
The problem with your logic is you think there’s a one size fit all solution. There isn’t.
I do agree that there is no one size fits all but there is a certain knowledge to acquire on how to distribute, pricing strategies that might work in different markets, distribution channels that you might not know exist or that are not appropriate at all stages of a startup.
My idea is, a collection of resources and tools to measure distribution success could help.
Is that really your problem or not talking to your customers (ie identifying exactly who they’d be) and finding product market fit?
