From opening and advertising your prelaunch waiting list to fully launching your product/service for the first time. How long was it?

I’m trying to set our SEO and start a following but I’m avoid a waitlist on purpose. I don’t think it’s worth the effort and money. It’s almost double effort. 1) sign users to a waitlist and then 2) converting them to a customer. I’m using the savings in time and money to better our platform.
