Hello, I’ve recently started a handmade jewelry business with a partner and I’m trying to figure out if there’s an efficient way of tracking inventory for handmade jewelry that involves high quantities of beads and small things like that.

Currently, I’m using Google Sheets and writing down the quantity of product, the number of pieces, total cost, length of its chain/rope, color, and material. I essentially think tracking inventory is important for having an accurate COG (Cost of Goods). Knowing what inventory is low is less important because that will be visibly seen at this stage but if there’s an easier way than counting each bead put into a product then I would love any advice or tips.

If you make custom products and sell at vendor markets, Etsy, online, or just have knowledge that would be helpful please leave a comment!

Hey there, depending on your needs you might be better off with a custom solution. Can you elaborate more on what features you might need? For the most part there’s always some features that are missing from a pre-made app leading you to not being able to track/manage things correctly.

I’ve created a simple inventory tracking solution you can find at AlpacaTrack.com. I made it when I was having a hard time finding a reasonably priced solution for my hobby projects.
