Hi, r/smallbusiness! Apologies if this isn’t the right community, but I could really use some help — thank you in advance.

I recently started my own consulting business as a freelance side hustle while I seek a new strategic sales / BD position. My first client is a cyber security & IT service company looking to redesign their sales strategy and rebrand their business to better highlight what makes them unique in the space. Up until now, the project has been fairly simple for me because it’s aligned with my background and skill set. Unfortunately, I think I got a bit too confident and landed myself pretty far up shits creek.

My client knew that I designed my own CV website using Wix and asked me if I would be willing to build theirs as an extra benchmark for our project. With the job market being what it is, I immediately said yes and thought it would be a pretty simple add on for an additional payout. It isn’t and I could really use your help.

I’m currently looking for a service that provides a full catalog of curated stock images, icons and visual design aids in matching color palettes, searchable by theme (in this case, cyber security and IT.) I’ve already worked with a graphic designer to create a logo for their rebranded business, but I’m desperately seeking a simple solution for the other design elements. I have a clear idea of the layout and I’ve already written the content in alignment to their new brand messaging, but finding cohesive icons and images to make the website look polished and professional is absolutely killing me.

While free is always great, I’d much rather pay for a “one stop shop” option. The more I look for possible solutions, the more I realize I have absolutely no fucking idea why I thought I could casually pick up commercial website design on the fly.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Does a curated library of design content like this even exist as a streamlined solution?

For anyone who took the time to read, thank you and please feel free to learn from my hubris on this one.

Pexels and unsplash for stock images. Canva for icons and visual design aid. Colorhunt for color palettes.

I assume you need a strong hero page for the website because your client is “unique “ in comparison to his/her competition. Use chatgpt but structure your message. H1 should be what what you do H2 why you’re better. I’d treat it like a cold email where the less words the better <120 words.

If this helps at all, ask if they need a marketing intern, its tough out here 🥲
