So after months of building on my product, I’m ready to do a proper launch.
I’ve been refining my product with the help of beta users, and I think I’m finally ready to open the floodgates.
For my launch, I’m planning to launch to my email list of 8k contacts (+ social media, but that’s negligible as my following is smaller there).
I’ve been warming them up, and so far I’ve already did a pre-launch survey to gauge interest, and the response has been pretty good and supportive.
I’m wondering if I should launch on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
The way I see it:
Black Friday
- Pro: People haven’t had purchase fatigue yet.
- Pro: It’s the #1 shopping day of the year, people are in a buying mood.
- Con: Everyone else is also vying for attention on BF. Too much noise.
- Con: People might not be online/at their computers.
- Con: It’s over the weekend, I want to have time off too, but if I launch then, I’ll have to watch over it like a hawk and say goodbye to my own Black Friday weekend.
Cyber Monday
- Pro: Fewer other offers vying for their attention.
- Pro: People are actually online/at the computer, usually at home or at work.
- Pro: I can be at my desk to do damage control, if anything breaks during my launch/open cart day.
- Con: People might have been fatigued by now.
What should I do?
I’d “soft” launch it now so that you can work out any last minute bugs before BF/CM…nothing worse than discovering a bug during a big launch day.
