Hey members, I’ve been helping businesses over 10 years where im from, and
I’d like to share some insights on how to increase your organic traffic online
and increase your social presence.
Google Business Page
I cannot stress enough how important Google Business Page is.
Specially if you’re targeting locals, it’s also free to use, and super easy
to set up.
Upload images on your GBP actively.
Get reviews! Please don’t buy fake reviews as it will only hurt your business
online. Imagine getting 10 reviews daily from people who says "Megan’s Nail Salon
did a wonderful haircut on me" when your business says it’s "Manicure and Pedicure
only". Looks stupid right?
Images and reviews on GBP also establish trust between your business and potential
customers/clients.
Engage with the reviews, show them your gratitude for leaving that wonderful review
or posting an image on your GBP.
Keep you GBP updated, make sure the hours are correct, holiday hours and services offered,
etc…
You can also add products on your GBP, it’s also a great place to post your products as it
helps with your overall SEO(Search Engine Optimization).
PAID ADS VS SEO(Search Engine Optimization)
Paid ads are great short term and can be highly expensive(depending on your keywords)
Some keywords will cost you over $2 depending where you live. Imagine people clicking
on your website 100x in an hour and that keyword costs you $2? That’s a whooping $200 charged
on your credit card in an hour! Now, if those 100 clicks turned into 2 sales for $50 each, then
you lose money. BUT, you gained 2 customers.
Search Engine Optimization
SEO is for long term and a great way to increase your organic traffic affordably.
There are few factors that can help you with your SEO.
A functioning website with updated plugins, a good hosting plan for your website(slow websites
are bad for SEO)
Make sure your images have alt names, and are tagged properly.
Find the right KEYWORDS!
Think about the words your clients are likely to use when looking for your products or services
on the web. If you’re selling appliances, for example, are your customers more likely to use a formal word like refrigerator or a slang word like fridge?
Don’t overdo it tho, you have to make your pages for users not for search engines.
Be active on social media and Google Business Page.
Website
If you’re planning on someone having your website developed, ask them questions about their plan/strategy.
What platform are you using? A professional developer would steer clear of wix and page builders.
Designing a website is a huge task, so make sure your designer/developer use industry standard software’s such as, Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, or even Inkscape.
A logo should always be done in SVG(scalable vector file) so the owner can re use it for different reasons.
If your designer sends you a .JPG or .PNG file of your logo as the main file, ask for an SVG, PDF or AI file.
Make your site is user friendly as possible, don’t use extravagant fonts, stick with generic fonts as most stylish fonts takes extra time to load, it means a slower website that translates to poor SEO.
Again, tag your images, do the alt names, make sure you upload a quality image and not pixelated.
If you’re on wordpress platform, make sure you install a cache plugin and SEO plugins to boost your site.
Connect your social medias on your website.
connect your search engine webmaster tools so search engines can index your pages.
Have a sitemap.
Don’t use overly large images as a bigger file image could slow down your website.
If you’re selling on marketplace websites such as Etsy, make sure you link your website on your info page, and make sure you link your products on your site to your Etsy page or products.
Lastly…
Be active on social media, engage with customer/clients.
If you’re on a strict budget and can’t afford a proper website, don’t stress. start slow, there are free programs out there that can help you design your website such as Canva(great tool for non designers). There are also free/cheap tools you can use for a website.
Also remember that a Google Business Page is free, so when someone asks you to pay them for your GBP, you can tell them to piss right off.
It is straight forward, and really easy to use and maintain.
