Hey everybody,

We are coming to market with our first product, we currently have next to no presence online and have not established a community yet. We are wanting to build a following on social media prior to the showcasing of our product ( I know this will prove to be difficult).

Building the community prior to the pre-launch campaign, Has anyone out there nailed this technique and care to share some tips doing so?

I’m also curious and I’ll be keeping up with these answers here ,but I would say launch on Product Hunt as soon as possible if SaaS. If also SaaS offer an affiliate program for your first 1,000 recommendations were the affiliates get 25% of the lifetime subscription. Advertise in a newsletter like ProfitSnack, it’s around $1,000 - $5,000, this is for if you have some money lying around. List on f6s, many businesses look for discounts here. Post on Hacker News, Supabase got 100’s of users by posting here. Posting on LinkedIn consistently and building an audience, Dharmesh Shah launched to his 1m audience his Wordle alternative WordPlay.com and it got millions of daily users for a week. Showcasing at pitch competitons: Trello got their first customers by presenting (revealing) the product at Techcrunch Disrupt. They got over 130,000 website visitors over the following 48 hours. Reaching out to fitting Twitter users, Figma found their first users by cold emailing influential designers they found on Twitter. If it’s a social app then hosting parties and having people sign up to your apps, that’s how a lot of social networks took off.
