It’s been a month now and I only had one client so far, nextdoor doesn’t work, I’ve spent about an hour of door to door business cards in the door and in car windows. And I can’t afford $360 a month for leads. I’m stuck. Please help

Own a cleaning business currently at 5 employees.

First things first, you must know that not everyone should be your client.

2nd thing, you do have a lot of competition but most of it are flakes and run their business terribly, if you are better than that you will grow.

3rd. Also to start up get an account on Turno that is AirBnB cleaning, right now it is slow season. You do this to supplement your income, they will mainly need cleanings on Mondays and maybe Sundays. You do not want to stay doing this as the jobs are small and you spend so much time driving. So you will phase it out after 2 years as you fill up your schedule with routine cleanings.

4rd. Get on Google MyBusiness and Google Locals and completely fill them out. Have your 1 client rate you on one of them. Once you get a few reviews you can start to use the pay for leads for Google Locals, you can before but it won’t work well. Google locals costs use around $20 or so a lead and we get around 50%, so a cost of $30 a lead.

5th, Get listed. Spend a day or two googling business registries and get your business listed with your phone number, address and website every where. You will hate your life when you do it but it is free and each one is likely nearly worthless but as a group makes your bus

6th, check out Angela Brown on youtube, you are going to be buds with her and after awhile you will get tired of voice, but keep watching or listening to her.

7th, Facebook, check out Facebook groups full of other cleaners. ZenMaids(They sell scheduling software) has a fairly active one they have inner circle as well. But their a several join them for ideas but honestly it is a lot of the blind leading the blind on all those groups.

8th. Pictures/Videos. Check out the big franchises, they spent a lot of money figure out marketing, so do the smart thing, steal their ideas. We got an insane deal for photos, videos and models that put everyone but the highest end franchises to shame, we did this year 3. This causes every listing like for My Business and Locals stand out, it also it slows the pervs from calling :| .

Ask your one client for referrals. Get google my business page and ask them for a review. Post regularly as other user said.

Also, figure out where your community talks. Online forum, Facebook page for your town/county, local meetups? Post on those online forums and go to the local meetups and ask other people what they do. Be pleasant and make a great impression by keeping the conversation on them. See how you can give them value and then let them know you have a cleaning business.

Don’t be afraid to ask for reviews and referrals as you continue to grow.
