I’ve started a pooper scooper business and am trying to get more clients, if I give a box of donuts to the local vet clinic and a stack of my business cards would that be a tax deduction for the donuts if bought on the company card?
Get them chocolate donut holes 💩
Yes and advisable.
Not if u eat them.
Deductible as meal expense.
I worked for an architecture firm and some sales guy came with donuts and info about his CMU retaining walls and it absolutely made me consider them for our future projects. Free food works.
Unrelated. I work on folk’s appliances in their homes. I can tell you most every one who has given me home made cookies or brownies or etc… I hardly remember who gave me the $20 or $50 as a tip… (which happens more often too!). Tell me those home made treats didn’t cost that person but maybe… maybe $3.00. Food is my love lang,.
If that’s not a business expense I’m in real trouble
Is the box of donuts intended to entice them to use your business? Don’t forget to write off the mileage to and from.
Somebody cooked here.
Most everything you can think of is a business expense. If you make less than $250k you have less than 1/10th if 1% chance of getting audited. Even if you do get audited it’s not like you go to prison right away- you’ll have the opportunity to correct mistakes. Y’all gotta stop parsing out every tiny little thing in businesses.
Only if your cards are shaped like doodoo
Do you have a website?
Yes! Talk to your local groomers and trainers too.
my suggestion is to contact and visit every business in the area involved with pets. Vets, boarding, Sitting, Training , daycare, grooming etc
.You also need the following:
online presence email marketing community work networking
I am only a junior accountant, but we record this as “client entertainment”, which in the UK makes it tax deductible as well I believe
