I’m about to walk out of my job. I’m literally sat typing this at my desk and I’ve had enough.

Nothing in particular has happened, I work at a Sales Manager at a marketing agency after having closed B2B for 4 years at an average conversion rate of 30% ( cold leads )and recently have been promoted. It’s just not what I want to do anymore, I’m good at what I do and can competently close clients, but I’m sick of lining someone else’s pockets when there’s so much more out there.

Can anyone give me some advice/guidance on where to begin? I’m 25 and live in the UK. I don’t have a great deal of money behind me, I guess I’m so bored at work that I spend my weekends/holidays squandering money to try and break the monotony.

I want to level up and have a decent quality of life, but what motivates me more is being self sufficient and not having to answer to shareholders that don’t even know my name.

Any advice/stories would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Seems like you already have the answer to what you want to do. My advice would be to try and think about what you would like to do with the skills that you have, and then plan on how you can get there. It isn’t easy but if you want it then go for it. More to life! If your plans need money to get you started then just keep working for a bit more, save your money don’t squander it so you can leave and have a bit of security

Everyone’s risk tolerance is different. I would have a well constructed plan before ditching steady income no matter how boring it is.

If you quit your job plan to be unemployed for like a year. There’s massive layoffs going on and it’s only gonna get worse.
