Do some business owners actually buy certain accounts that has followers for marketing purposes or to make their business credible? Lately I decided to let go my main tiktok account, it has some decent amount of followers (close to 70k) and I wonder instead of letting it die, someone would have it for their business.
Yes, leveraging an account with 70k followers for business purposes is a great idea, especially considering the potential for marketing and credibility. Ensure the livestream content aligns with business interests for maximum impact.
Yes, some business owners do buy stale accounts, but it doesn’t make it good idea.
For many businesses, TikTok is a money sink. It’s very attractive for new marketers due to how cheap impressions are, but conversions are generally pretty abysmal compared to other platforms. Just think about how fast people scroll video to video. Good luck grabbing someone’s attention and convincing them to click out of the app.
There are certainly successful ways to run effective marketing on TikTok, but it’s really about finding niche audiences and monetizing them. The only way I see an experienced marketer buying accounts is if the audiences align perfectly align with their product / service.
For example, somebody starting a barber shop in LA could buy an old account from a barber shop in LA that went out of business. If you buy a completely random account and rebrand the whole thing to something unrelated, you’re gonna have a bunch of random people following you who may not be an engaged audience with YOUR content, in which case you’ll be HURTING your content in their ranking algorithm + Conversions.
Just food for thought. Leverage the following by finding related accounts / business who are seeking to acquire / monetize their target audience. Make sure to identify your niche and target businesses in it, that’s who actually has a chance of wanting to pay you for the followers.
