My company is hoping to rent a warehouse in the Atlanta area. The realtors we’ve talked to are saying 5-year has become the norm and at best we might be able to get a 3-year lease. For several reasons I would much rather go short term and pay more (like 6-months to a year) to prove that it is financially sustainable. Is it really the norm now to go 5-years? That seems like a huge risk for a small business, or is this just realtors trying to get more commission?
