“Request to Interview You”
I get emails like this pretty frequently. These are usually basically no-name websites or publications. Of course, I wouldn’t expect a large publication to ask to interview us.
We are a small business of ~10-20 employees.
The sending address is usually different from the actual website. E.g. the actual website is MadeInCa.ca.
Are these legit requests or scammers or people just trying to build up backlinks to their websites?
Has anyone actually done in the interviews?

I was bored one day and decided to email them back and see where it went, and like u/localguideseo said they will waste your time, tell you about how good of a fit you are, how much value you bring, how the readers will love the piece, how youll get so many leads and then let you know that you have to pay a small amount to get it published in so and so magazine, podcast etc.
8/10 for novelty of the email tho.
Hard to imagine how you can see the same name from different companies and still wonder if it’s legit.
