Wondering what payroll provider everybody is using? Currently using Workday & just feels too complex for my needs.

So far looking at Gusto & Paycom & wondering if anybody has used either of them before ?

Love my local accountant. Ezpz, about the same cost & quick responses. Plus, as a small biz owner, I feel good about spending the money locally.

I like this answer, but I recently found out a local CPA who’s been at it for probably 30+ years doesn’t know some of the rules about payroll. Not sure what to do now…

I had a similar experience with a CPA firm that provides payroll. When I know more about payroll than the payroll provider, it’s not a good sign. Gusto was easier, more responsive and more cost effective.

You know what… it’s really sad I hadn’t even considered this option. I’ll have to think this over a little more now.

def use a local acct overabig service. do not use gusto. they were hacked two weeks ago despite 2fa being enabled. i reveived over 500 junk emails and confirmations of people changing dd accounts and issuing bonus checksl thankfully this was stoppes in time, but its been a hassle ever since. i dont use it myself, but i was added an accountant user for one of my clients.

I started with quickbooks payroll, but our accountant recommended a local payroll company, and they were the same price as qb payroll per month, but they do all the work, file everything, set up the various states’ unemployment, withholdings etc. It’s been great having someone you can email personally who knows your business needs and doesn’t try to upsell stuff you don’t need to pay extra for.
