I own a small brick and mortar art collective shop in Idaho. We have 60+ local and regional artists and are also connected to a local coffee shop/bakery. My grand opening is scheduled for small business Saturday, 11/25 and I am trying to think of ways to make it more “grand.” We focus on sustainability and slow made so not looking to do balloon arches or big one day signs ect

So far: I’m a screen printer and am making 20 limited edition reusable totes to give away to the first 20 purchases Free hot coffee and cider from the coffee shop Free sample baked goods Lots of giveaways from local businesses and some artists in the shop

I was thinking of having some local artists “pop up” with us but I don’t want to deflect sales from the shop. I want to giveaway beer and wine but I can’t seem to find the legalities of that in Idaho.

I would LOVE some ideas. Thanks!

Sounds very nice, and you are already doing a lot. If you feel you need to do more, perhaps have some of your artists do a demonstration or small talk? Or have light local musical entertainment on hand? It could also be a fundraiser for a local charity or arts project.
